Robert Yerks

Robert L. Yerks age 91 of Rogers City
passed away January 26, 2019 at Medilodge in
Rogers City,

He was born July 7, 1927 in Rogers City
to Theodore and Laura (Hopp) Yerks.

To honor his country, he voluntarily enlisted to serve in both WWII and
the Korean Conflict, After his Honorable Discharge from the Navy, Bob
married Shirley Marx on April 26, 1958 at St. John Lutheran Church.
He was an avid league bowler and was inaugurated into Rogers City’s
Nautical Lanes Hall of Fame, He enjoyed deer hunting as well as going
to the Serviceman’s Club, where Bob would meet his fellow veterans.
Bob was an active member of St, John Lutheran Church, He was
employed for many years at Calcite,

Bob is survived by:

his daughter, Lori (Gordon) Kandow;

3 granddaughters, Kelli Kandow, Megan Kandow, and Jenna Kandow, and
sister-in-law, Hazel Yerks.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley;
2 brothers, Melvin and Jerry; and
his parents, Theodore and Laura.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 29th
from 4-8 p.m, with a prayer service at 7 p.m, Visitation will resume on
Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. through time of his
funeral at 11 a.m. with Pastor Kurt Lambart officiating. Rogers City
VFW Post 607 will accord military honors at church immediately
following.

Interment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church
in memory of Bob Yerks.
