Roger Duffiney
1943 - 2025Roger Duffiney 81 of Cheboygan passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on June 14, 2025.
Roger was born on December 1, 1943 to Albert and Marrian (White) Duffiney.
He grew up in Cheboygan, where he attended catholic high school through his junior year then transferred to Cheboygan public high school to graduate his senior year.
Roger loved basketball, golf, and pool in his younger days. He was an animal lover, he always had such a big heart! Rog enjoyed watching Jeopardy, and could answer just about all the questions. He was quick with a joke, love to make people laugh, always getting the last word. He also enjoyed taking Judy for a spin to the casino, but most nights they would sit on their front porch swing watching and talking to everyone, just enjoying each other’s company.
Roger had an amazing talent for painting free hand that not many could match, you could always find his work throughout Cheboygan at any given holiday. He also had a talent for making friends. He seemed to know everyone, everywhere, and if it was the first time meeting him, you took an instant liking to him, then you had
a friend for life.
Roger was a proud grandpa (pupup) he would carry his grandson, Todd, on his shoulders, starting at age 2 or 3 down to the Cheboygan river to take him fishing 3 or 4 times a week, usually more, he never could tell him no. Hard to believe that was over three decades ago.
Roger was the youngest of ten siblings who preceded him in death Adelaide Ostroske, Lorraine Rendina, Donald (Anne) Duffiney, Marshall Duffiney, Iris (Percy Scott), Grace Duffiney, Richard Duffiney, Gary Duffiney and Sandra (Francis Bur).
Rogers friends and family meant the everything to him, especially Judy and his daughters Tammy (Paul Braum), Tina Bannister (who also preceded him in death), Tonya (Mark Yoder) Grandchildren, Todd Yoder and Alex Bannister. He also had three nieces that were very close to his heart. Lynn Hoagland, Itty Woiderski, and Karen Dominique Bur.
Roger was loved by so many he will be forever missed by his family and friends.
Per Rogers request cremation was held in care of Beck’s Funeral Home and no service will take place
