Roger Harris

Roger Dobbs Harris age 79 of Rogers City passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 27, 2026.

He was born in Rochester, New York on October 20, 1946 to Franklin and Annie (Redick) Harris.

Roger served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. In 1975 he came into the lives of Rick and John in California. He worked as an Independent Contractor financing boats of every size. He enjoyed sailing (crewing for 1 year). Classic cars like his love of 1964 Mustangs. Roger was always an animal lover and rescuing older dogs became a passion. He always had dog treats in his pockets or vehicle. He would notice a dog before a person. As a member of the Presque Isle Sportsman’s Club he loved trap shooting. Roger married Linda Indish in Mesa, Arizona on February 20, 2013.

A celebration of life gathering will take place in the San Luis Rey Room at the Beck Funeral Home on Saturday, October 10th from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The Rogers City VFW Post 607 will offer a military tribute at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to any animal shelter in memory of Roger Harris.
