Roger Hoeft

Roger Lloyd Hoeft age 79 of Hawks
went to be with the Lord from Rogers City Tendercare
on January 21, 2017.

He was born March 2, 1937 in Moltke Township
to Herman and Alma (Schaedig) Hoeft.

Roger Graduated from Hillman High School in 1956. On June 19, 1965 he
married Joyce Sorgenfrei at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Moltke
Township, Roger retired from General Motors as a press operator on
March 1, 1993 and moved to Hawks. He enjoyed traveling, fishing
(especially while on trips in Canada), hunting, playing cards and
telling and retelling “Roger” stories.

Mr. Hoeft is survived by:
his wife, Joyce;
3 children, Gail (Michael) Maurer of Alpena,
Dawn (Kenneth) Geere of Levittown, Pennsylvania and
Allen (Pennie) Hoeft of Rogers City;
6 grandchildren, Kenneth Geere Jr., Samanthia (Nicholas Horvath) Geere,
Allison Geere, Zachary Hoeft, Quintin Kelly and
Ava Kelly;
he is also survived by 2 sisters, Lilah (Norman) Elowski of Rogers City
and Carol Hoeft of Petoskey.

He was preceded in death by:
his parents, Herman and Alma and 2 brothers, Arden and Neil,

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 24th
from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.

Visitation will resume at Faith Lutheran Church in Hawks on Wednesday
from 10:00 a.m, through time of funeral at 11:00 a.m, with
Rev. Dr. Jack D. Ferguson officiating,

Interment will take place at Montmorency Township Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Faith Lutheran Church,
St. John Lutheran School or Compassus Hospice
in memory of Roger Hoeft.
