Ron Barr

Ron Barr, 71, of Carp Lake Township, Michigan, and Port Charlotte,
Florida, passed away Friday, June 10, 2016 surrounded by his family
after a short battle with cancer.

Ron was born in Detroit, Michigan, on October 26, 1944,
to Ronald and Lauretta Barr, the second of four children.

He graduated from Melvindale High School in 1962. In 1966 he married
Susan Baugh, with whom he had three children; Shannon, Stacey and
Jason, After serving in the Air Force Reserves, Ron and Sue moved to
Northern Michigan and bought Springbrook Golf Club in Boyne Falls,
which they ran for many years. Ron later married Michele Zulski of
Pellston on November 16, 2002, Ron became very close to Michele’s two
children, Krystal and Kasi Fyke, in whose lives Ron played a huge part.
Ron and Michele spent many happy years both in northern Michigan and
in Florida. Most people knew Ron from his many years at Springbrook.
He made many friends there and will always be remembered as the
driving force in promoting that business. Ron also loved watching the
Detroit Tigers and Red Wings, and had a well known love-hate feeling
for the Lions. He was one of a kind, always up for a party and will be
greatly missed,

Ron is survived by:
his mother, Lauretta Barr, and mother-in-law Irene Zulski,
his wife Michele,
his three children, Shannon (Bob) Williams, Stacey Seals and
Jason (Tracy) Barr,
brothers, Ken (Susan) Barr and Steven (Nancy) Barr,
sister, Nancy Hilmer,
stepdaughters, Krystal and Kasi Fyke,
grandchildren, Taylor, Emme, Carly, Hayden, Makenzie, Aubry, Michael,
Riley, Jacob, and Marty,
as well as many nicces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by:
his father Ronald Barr,
brother-in-law David Hilmer,
best friend, Don Tait,
father-in-law, Frank Zulski, Sr.,
nephew, Tyler Downing,
brother-in-law, Matthew Kline, and
canine friends Eddie and Cashius.

There will be a celebration of Ron’s life Saturday, June 18, 2016, at
Springbrook Golf Club in Boyne Falls from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m,
