Rosemary Haire
1934 - 2012On July 9, 1934, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Rosemary Jackson Haire
came into this world, and made it a better place.
She met Warren Haire, a young serviceman, at the age of 18. They
married July 9, 1952 and began a life together that resulted in four children;
Deborah Kay, Jackie Dee, William Warren, and Thomas Phillip. After years of
traveling base-to-base, their family came to Northern Michigan’s Rainy Lake for a
family reunion, and fell in love with the area. Family, friends, and the beautiful area
was all they could see. It was at that point they started their Rogers City life.
As owner and operator of the Radio Tavern for over 20 years, they strived to raise
their beautiful family, It was here they made countless friends that became just like
family and left an impact on the community that remains today.
On April 24, 2012 our cherished Mother and Grandmother was called home to join
the love of her life. Surrounded by those who loved her most, Rosemary’s courageous
battle with Lung Cancer came to an end, completing one journey as another began.
April 24th will not mark a day of sorrow, it will instead mark a day of celebration in
how she lived.
A champion to many and the dearest of friend to all those whose life she touched,
but no more than that of her children and grandchildren, her unconditional love and
selflessness bonding us together. A selflessness that was never more evident than in
her final days comforting her family through heavy hearts.
In passing Rosemary left behind not only family and friends grateful for every second
spent with her, but she also leaves a legacy and an example by which we all should
live.
Rosemary has joined her soul mate and husband, Warren Haire, as well as a
sister Vera Jeauell Phillips, a brother Grover “Sonny” Jackson, 2 sister-in-laws,
Johnnie Templeton and Marge Wilson, 3 brother-in-laws, James Brooks,
Victor Wilson and Wesley Templeton, her mother Ruby Blunk, step-father Jack Blunk
who have preceded her to heaven.
