Sharon spent her last days enjoying her birthday celebration weekend with friends and family, her grandson Liam’s high school graduation, her granddaughter Hannah’s bridal shower and a family picnic. She loved spending time with her family.

Sharon was born May 26, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan to Mary Anne Jaschke. On October 21, 1967 she married John Sterling Cronk in Charlevoix, Michigan. Sharon grew up in Milford, Michigan and summered in Charlevoix with her family. She graduated from Ladywood High School and studied cosmetology in Petoskey while lifeguarding at Lake Michigan Beach in Charlevoix. After earning his teaching degree, John accepted a position at Cheboygan Catholic High School and together they made their home in Cheboygan where they raised a large family. Sharon was a cosmetologist by trade, but most importantly a mother. Her passion was raising children, including her children, grandchildren, foster children and many other children of her heart. She and John ministered to others all their lives including caring for more than 30 foster children, neighborhood children, daycare children and invited many others into their home. Our mom was known to show God’s love to others.

Sharon is survived by her sister Tiller (Gregg) Landick of Ludington, her children, John (Jennifer) Cronk of Petoskey, Angela Blue of Cheboygan, Jennifer (Matthew) Sampson of Fairbanks, Alaska, Valerie Cronk, Andrew Cronk and Michael (Kim) Cronk all of Cheboygan, Jessica (Shawn) Kerr, Angela Gordon of Dallas, Randy (Michelle) Baker of Bowman, N.D., Shawn (Fred) Hunt of Ellsworth, Erica Hedrick of Cheboygan, her in-laws Carla (Doug) Miller of Topinabee, Sue Cronk and Roger (Becky) Cronk of Cheboygan and Renee Webb-Otis of Boise, ID. Sharon is also survived by her very special grandchildren: Jessica Lee Nowak, Jaimee Lynne Richardson, Ethan Linebarger, Jack and Hunter Cronk, Josiah, Hannah and Abigail Sampson, Liam and Jacob Cronk, Beau Morris, Cristhopher Castellanos, Kristy Trudeau and Amber Trudeau-Bartlett and Dominic McDermott. Additionally, she is survived by 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and many other children and grandchildren of her heart.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Mary Anne (Jaschke) Otis, brother Buzz Otis, in-laws Carlyle and Lawilda Cronk and her wonderful husband of 44 years and our amazing father, John Sterling Cronk, Sr.

Please celebrate her legacy of love with us at Life Worship Center in Cheboygan, on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 11:00am. Pastor Sam Agee will officiate with a luncheon to follow. All are welcome to also attend the 2:00 graveside service at Calvary Cemetery in Cheboygan.
