Shirley Schaedig

Shirley Jean Schaedig age 87 of Rogers City passed away October 7, 2022 at Medilodge in Alpena.

She was born September 13, 1935 in Rogers City to Elvin “Dave” and Myrtle (Radke) Grigg.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Merlin; 2 children, Paula (Ed) Streich of Rogers City and Steve (Melissa) Schaedig of Mason, Ohio; 4 grandchildren; Courtney, Allison, Andrew and Hannah.

She was preceded in by her parents, Dave and Myrtle.

Shirley graduated from Rogers City High School in 1953. She worked in the office at Calcite for many years. She married Merlin Schaedig on May 10, 1969 at St. John Lutheran Church. Together, they loved to travel and took numerous cruises and tours around the country. She enjoyed downhill skiing, knitting, canning, golfing and bowling.

Friends may visit at Beck Funeral Home on Monday, October 10th from 4 until 8. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at Peace Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. through time of her funeral at 11 a.m. with Pastor J. Derek Riddle officiating.

Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church, Hospice of Michigan or a charity of your choice in memory of Shirley Schaedig.
