1925 - 2010

Simon Arthur Yerrat age 85 of Ocqueoc Township
passed away October 25, 2010 at home

He was born April 30, 1925 in Melvindale, Michigan
to Simon and Ethyl (Watson) Yerrat

Si served in the United States Navy during World War II with the
Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit (See Bee’s), He was honorably discharged
in 1945. Under the GI Bill, he attended Michigan Tech for 3 years, then transferred
to Michigan State University for 2 years where he graduated as a Park Ranger. His
first assignment was in Muskegon, then Ocqueoc, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Ocqueoc
Group Camp, Onaway State Park, then finally retiring from Aloha State Park. He
then took a job with Michigan United Conservation Corps., at the Ocqueoc Group
Camp until it closed.

Mr. Yerrat is survived by:
nephews, Roger (Deanna) Grant of Arizona and Frank Grant of Wayne;
niece, Samantha Hyson of Alaska;
friends, Linda Peltz and the staff of Golden Beach Manor,
and many others.

Beck Funeral Home will announce his memorial service at the
Ocqueoc Outdoors Center when the date is set.
