Stanley Skierski
1917 - 2012Stanley Joseph Skierski age 94 of Posen
passed away peacefully on Friday, January 20, 2012
at home surrounded by his family.
Stanley was born June 21, 1917 to
Walter “Fred” and Ann (Wisniewski) Skierski
in Krakow Township, Posen, Michigan
He was a construction worker, a factory worker, and a farmer. He loved playing
pinocle and deer hunting. Stanley married Helen Wojtowicz on October 30, 1944,
in Posen. He was a life member of St. Casimir Catholic Church.
Mr. Skierski is survived by:
his wife, Helen of 67 years;
4 children, Christine (Larry) Dubey, Marlene (Larry) Montie, James (Julie) Skierski
all of Alpena, and Janice (Ted) Cooper of Illinois;
3 grandchildren, Corey (Jody) Montie, Josh (Amber) Skierski, and Gage Skierski;
1 great granddaughter, Macy Skierski;
6 step grandchildren;
5 step great grandchildren; and
many nieces and nephews.
Stanley was preceded in death by:
his parents;
18 siblings including his twin brother and
a great grandson, Dillon Skierski.
Friends may visit at St. Casimir Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 24th from
10:00 a.m. until time of mass at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Stan Bereda officiating.
Burial will take place in the spring at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery
Memorials may be given in memory of Stanley Skierski to Hospice of Michigan or
a charity of your choice.
