Thomas Konwinski

1935 - 2013

Thomas F. Konwinski, age 78 of Alpena,
formerly of Posen, passed away at
Tendercare Alpena on October 5, 2013
after a lengthy illness.

Tom was born in Posen on June 3, 1935
to Frank and Theodosia (Lewandowski) Konwinski,

He was a 21 year veteran of the United States Navy. He retired as Chief
Petty Officer, having served in Vietnam.He was Senior Radiation Control
Technician and Health Physics Consultant in numerous nuclear power
plants.Tom was a graduate of Posen High School; a member of both
St. Casimir Catholic Church in Posen and St. Rose of Lima Catholic
Church in Herron; and a member of Posen VFW Post 7804. He was a
sports enthusiast and loved nature and wildlife. His goal in life was to
make at least one person smile each and every day. He always met that
goal. Tom will be dearly missed by everyone.

Mr. Konwinski is survived by:
4 step-children, Sandra (Erik) Selke, Richard (Carolee) Kortman,
Lisa Schellie, and Christin (Robby) Vogelheim all of
Rogers City;
10 grandchildren, John, Greg, Dan, Zane, Autumn, Erica, Rebecca,
Heather, Kelly, and Tommy;
4 great grandchildren, Gregory, Amber, Nathan, and Xander;
2 brothers, Anthony (Joyce) of Posen and
Arthur (Elaine) of Fort Wayne, Indiana;
numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and his beloved cat.

Tom was preceded in death by:
a son, Andrew in January of 2013;
parents, Frank and Theodosia;
2 brothers, Norbert and Frank;
sister, Evelyn (Al) Momrik.

Friends may visit at St. Casimir Catholic Church on Thursday,
October 10th from 10:00 a.m. through time of his Memorial Mass at
11:00 a.m. with Fr. Stan Bereda officiating. Posen VFW Post 7804 will
accord full military honors immediately following Mass.

Burial at Sea will be conducted by the United States Navy.

Memorials may be given in memory of Thomas Konwinski
to St. Casimir Catholic Church or Huron Humane Society, Alpena.

Cremation arrangements are in care of the Beck Funeral Home.
