Tracey Tortorice
1955 - 2025Tracey Lynn Tortorice age 70 of Grand Lake passed away at home on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
She was born at McLaren-Flint in the winter of 1955 as the second of five daughters to Wade and Thelma Huneycutt. Tracey and her sisters, Shelly, Susie, Sherry and Jamie, grew up in a quaint Clio neighborhood having wild fun and bickering like only sisters can. When Tracey and her sisters and their mom were together they would all talk at the same time, yet still keep track of each conversation in play!
In July of 1975, Tracey and Wade Tortorice married and eventually settled down in Mt Morris to raise their kids, Matthew, Melissa, and Nathan. Tracey always said the greatest joy of her life was being a mom until she became a grandmother to Bruce, Dylan, Sadie, Caden, Kingston, and Violet. She thought it couldn’t get any sweeter and then Tracey became a great grandmother to Rocky, Milo, Ivy, and Kyky.
When she wasn’t loving on her own kids, grandkids, greats, nieces, and nephews, Tracey was doting on and caring for her students. Tracey spent her career as a para-educator in the Genesee Intermediate School District, teaching and advocating for those who could not advocate for themselves.
Tracey will be remembered for her deep and undying love for her family, friends, and camping in the great outdoors! Certainly Tracey is on her greatest adventure yet, with her toes in the water, the sun kissing her olive skin, and a campfire waiting for her on shore that is surrounded by her mom, dad, and sister Shelly.
Tracey is survived by the love of her life, Wade Tortorice, her children Matthew, Melissa (John), Nathan (Tara); her sisters Sherry, Jamie (Mike), and Susie; her grandchildren Bruce, Dylan (Chas), Sadie (Caressia), Caden (Hailey), Kingston, and Violet; and her great grandchildren Milo, Rocky, Ivy and Kyky.
Tracey was preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law, her sister Shelly, and her nephew Aaron.
A private family celebration of life camping weekend will be held in the summer, Tracey’s favorite season.
