Vera Basel

Vera J. Basel age 83 of Rogers City
passed away October 14, 2014 at

Rogers City Tendercare where she had been
a resident since 2010.

She was born April 5, 1931 in Hawks
to Herbert and Berthina (Smith) Paull.

Vera graduated from Rogers City High School in 1949 and went on to
become a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was employed at the Rogers City
Hospital in 1952 as a scrub nurse in the operating room. After her
retirement in 1978 she kept busy volunteering at local blood drives.

On May 5, 1951 she married Kenneth Link, Ken and Vera enjoyed taking
the family camping and continued the fun tradition with all their
grandchildren. Ken passed away on September 15, 1994,
Vera was a talented seamstress and enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
On July 3, 1998 she married Melvin Basel, Vera will be remembered as
a Happy Person.

Vera is survived by:
3 children, Carol (Robert) Noffze of Grand Lake,
Jeffery (Barb) Link of West Chester, Ohio, and
Eileen (Alan) Pines of Rogers City;
8 grandchildren;
5 great grandchildren; and
1 brother, Nelson Paull of Drummond Island.

She was also preceded in death by:
her parents, Herbert and Berthina;
2 sisters, Lois Orban and Harriet Walter;
2 brothers, Richard Paull and Lewis Paull.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 until
8:00 p.m, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m,
Visitation will resume on Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church from
10:00 a.m. through time of funeral at 11:00 a.m. with
Pastor J, Derek Riddle officiating.

Inurnment will take place at Faith Lutheran Cemetery in Hawks.

Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church, American Red Cross,
or Faith Lutheran Cemetery Care Fund.
