Virgil Thornton

Virgil Gene Thornton age 86 of Cheboygan passed away June 6, 2026.

He was born March 28, 1940 in Cheboygan to Cliff and Clara (Bishop) Thornton.

Virgil is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Dan Thornton, Doug (Jill) Thornton, John (Carleen) Brown, Anita (Ken) Ginop and Kathy (Ron) Hauser; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and three sisters, Eleanor Demerly, Sharon (Ed) Davis and Betty Thornton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Clara; a sister, Luella (Bill) Elliott; his brother, Jack; and a brother-in-law, Nicholas Demerly.

The date for his memorial service will be posted when is set.
