Virginia Huyck
1937 - 2019Virginia (Jerri) G, Huyck was born to
Alexander and Theresa Paquin on
December 15, 1937 in St. Ignace, Michigan.
She passed away on February 11, 2019 at
Bay Bluffs from Parkinson’s
She married Charles A, Huyck July 17, 1955. They became owners of
Huyck’s Service, a grocery store and Mobil gas station on US 2 in
St. Ignace a few years after marriage. This business ran until the carly
80’s and then the couple opened up Jerri’s Pasties at the same location,
It closed in 2015, Jerri was a very savvy business woman,
Jerri had a beautiful singing voice and she was a prolific watercolor
painter who painted a variety of nature scenes especially. She was a lover
of the arts and music, She loved to be outside in nature, In September
2016 she entered Bay Bluffs, Emmet County Care Facility in Harbor
Springs, Michigan. While there, she continued to sketch and paint, and
she enjoyed outings and live music performances at the facility.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Donna (Don) Corp, and
brothers, Floyd (Catherine) Paquin, Donald Paquin, and Thomas (Sally)
Paquin, son-in-law Roderick Sheldon.
She is survived by sister Betty Marshall, brothers, Ronald (Molly) Paquin
and Leonard Paquin, children Sharon (Donny) Brunner, Penny Huyck,
Shelley St. Ange-Sheldon, Charles Alex Huyck, grand children Erica
(Tony) Rhome, Amanda (Darren) St. Louis Dolinich, and great
grandchildren Trevor St. Louis and Madison Rhome, and numerous
nieces and nephews.
A memorial will be announced in late spring or carly summer.
