Walter Plath

1937 - 2013

Walter Werner Plath, age 76 of Rogers City,
passed away August 15, 2013 at home.

He was born March 19, 1937 in Cheboygan
to Walter and Pearl (Standen) Plath.

Walt served his country in 2 branches of the military. He served in the
Army from September of 1956 to September of 1959 then was discharged
from his reserve obligation in September of 1962. He then enlisted in
the Navy as a mechanic during the Vietnam War from June of 1968
to October of 1970. On September 29, 1972 he married
Sally Ann Durecki in Rogers City.

Mr. Plath retired from the Presque Isle County Road Commission in 1994,

Walt was a member of the International Brotherhood of Motorcycle
Campers (IBMC).

He rode his motorcycle in 49 of the 50 United States.

Walter is survived by:
his wife, Sally;
son, Todd (Heidi) Plath;
grandson, Dustin Plath;
brother, Frank (Rose) Plath; and
sister, Cheryl (Don) Staley.

He was preceded in death by:
his parents, Walter and Pearl; and
brother, Raymond.

Per Walt’s request, private services will take place.
