William Allan

William “Bill” James Clearie Allan, age 79 of Rogers City,
passed away November 13, 2013 at
Alpena Regional Medical Center,

He was born May 21, 1934 in Troon, Scotland
to Hugh and Mary (Clearic) Allan,

Bill served in the Royal Air Force in Germany during the early 1950s.
His career as a professional golfer began in Oxford, England, then on to
Vienna, Austria; Vancouver, BC; Windsor, Ontario; Detroit, and finally
Bloomfield Hills. Bill continued playing golf throughout his lifetime and
particularly enjoyed his final season at the Rogers City Country Club.
He graciously gave golf lessons (free of charge) to anyone who asked
(and sometimes even if they didn’t ask).

Bill is survived by:
his wife of 16 years, Elaine Heidemann-Allan;
8 children, Ian Allan, David Allan, Elizabeth (Tim) Mulligan,
Scott (Erin) Allan, Hugh Allan, Heidi Marie Folsom,
Ingrid (Koen) Van Cleemput, and Hans Mayer;
8 grandchildren, Walden Wagner, Fiodor Allan Kessler, Shea Allan,
Kurt Folsom, Steffi Folsom, Kieran Allan, Emma Allan,
and Stephanie Corbet;
4 great grandchildren, Mieke Wagner, Alexandra Allan, Ellie Allan, and
Gavin Corbett;
4 siblings, Margaret (David) Rolfe, Mary Gallerani,
Cathy (W.J.) Chittick, and Hugh (Nora) Allan.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jacqueline Allan.

No public services are planned.
