William Yaklin

William Allan Yaklin age 65 of Grand Lake passed away peacefully at home on December 12, 2022.

He was born October 9, 1957 in Detroit to Andrew and Regina “Jean” (Sebert) Yaklin.

Bill is survived by his wife, Kathryn; a daughter, Stephanie (Tim) Burton of East China Township; son, Kevin (Emily) Yaklin of Watertown, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Willow, Wyatt and Mallory; one sister, Carol (Lou) Sacco of Casco Township; a sister-in-law, Karen Yaklin of Midway, Georgia; a brother-in-law, Michael David of Macomb.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Jean; a brother, Dan Yaklin; and a sister, Mary Jean David.

Bill graduated from Grosse Pointe South High School in 1975. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University in 1979. On October 19, 1985 he married Kathryn Murphy at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Posen.

Friends may visit at St. Anne Catholic Church in Alpena on Saturday, June 3rd from 10 a.m. through time of his memorial Mass at 11 a.m. with Fr. Tyler Bischoff officiating.

Inurnment will take place at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Hospice of Michigan in memory of William Yaklin.
